National Curriculum
The national curriculum provides pupils with an introduction to the essential knowledge that they need to be educated citizens. It introduces pupils to the best that has been thought and said; and helps engender an appreciation of human creativity and achievement.
The following documents issued by the Department for Education (DfE) give details of the statutory primary national curriculum, including programmes of study and attainment targets for all subjects at key stages 1 and 2.
Key Stage 1 (infants) incudes reception, year 1 and year 2.
Key Stage 2 (juniors) includes years 3-6.
