Medication in School
Medicines
Parents/Carers must complete and sign the administration of medication consent form, including dosage, time, and any necessary instruction (i.e. to be stored in the fridge) and hand this into the school office.
Medicine must be clearly labelled and have a medicine spoon provided, if necessary.
Unfortunately, we are only able to administer over-the-counter medicines (eg, pain relief or cough syrup) if they are deemed as essential, so please only send these into school if it is absolutely necessary. A medication consent form must be completed. Alternatively, you may choose to come into school and administer such medications yourself at breaktimes or lunchtimes.
Other medications not allowed in school unless brought in and administered by a parent/carer are: cough sweets, throat lozenges, vapour rubs, decongestant sprays, etc.
Please note that all medication will need to be personally dropped off at the office and signed for by a parent/carer, and again be collected at the end of the day by the individual who collects your child. Do not send medication into school via the class teacher or your child.
The school office is open daily from 8.30am until 3.30pm.
These guidelines are to ensure the safety of all children within school, and we appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
Should you have any further questions or queries, please do not hesitate to contact school.
