Parent Feedback
The school is continually striving to improve the ways in which we support and educate our pupils. We are self-reflective and hold regular staff meetings that focus on what we can do better. We also welcome constructive feedback from parents as to ways in which we may continue to improve.

Your Feedback and What We Changed
We listened...
You told us we could improve our wraparound care. We now offer specialist provision with a breakfast club from 7.30 a.m. and an after school club until 6 p.m.
You told us we could offer a club to improve wellbeing. We now run a lunchtime Mindfulness Club.
You told us we could offer a safe space where children could talk about worries. We now offer counselling from a trained staff member where children can talk about issues that are of concern.
How Can I Provide Feedback?
Please talk to a member of our senior leadership team or alternatively, please email Mr. Caplen at head@cressing.essex.sch.uk. We can't promise to always make changes to suggested feedback, but we will take any matters raised seriously and reply accordingly.
Feedback -Opening Evening March 2026
Thank you for all of you who provide feedback regarding our parent’s open evening in March. It was lovely to see so much positive feedback and are glad that so many parents told us how much their child enjoyed being at our school. We also appreciated the constructive feedback on how we can do better…
Comment: ‘Would have liked access to Maths and English books.’
Reply: We will make sure this happens in future in all classes.
Comment: ‘I do think it would be beneficial to have an additional one to one parents’ evening as well as this event. Not at the same time but during the summer term.’
Reply: A third parents’ evening would impact further on teacher workload which is already significant and as senior leaders, we must be mindful of the wellbeing of our staff. It has always been the case that for parents who wish to have a more formal meeting with their child’s class teacher, in addition to the open evening, then this can be arranged.
Comment: ‘A PFA stand with ideas for future fundraisers or ideas of things they would like to organise.’
Reply: Unfortunately, the PFA were not able to attend this open evening. Their support is really valued and parents are very much encouraged to join the PFA to help with fundraising etc.
Comment: ‘Possibly have a plain option of food on offer for those that require as I really wanted my son to try the food but as there wasn’t any option for plain, he didn’t want to try.’
Reply: We were only thinking about showing how tasty the school dinners were so apologies, we did not think of this! We will certainly ask Miss Collins to prepare some plain food next time.
Comment: ‘Tea and coffee available.’
Reply: Apologies, this was the plan but a last-minute hitch meant we could not provide. We will make sure we have a brew ready next time.
